National Ambulance Wins the Golisano Award for Local Health Leadership
In recognition of the ongoing commitment to People of Determination’s health and safety

Abu Dhabi, 14 April 2021: National Ambulance won the Golisano Award for Local Health Leadership, in a ceremony recently held in Abu Dhabi in the presence of H.E. Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Special Olympics UAE; Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of Special Olympics UAE; Ahmed Al Hajeri National Ambulance CEO and other senior representatives of the winning organisations.
The award considered the highest recognition in the health sector for People of Determination and Special Olympics around the world, came in recognition for National Ambulance’s efforts in supporting Special Olympics UAE health programmes and contributions towards providing a safe environment and the highest level of healthcare for People of Determination within the Special Olympics UAE community.
Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, National Ambulance CEO, expressed his delight in winning the Golisano Local Award for Health Leadership, which recognises National Ambulance’s ongoing commitment to supporting and promoting the health and safety of People of Determination and contributing to building healthy communities.
Al Hajeri also reiterated the significance of the strategic partnership with Special Olympics UAE aimed at providing a solid health and safety environment for Athletes of Determination and supporting them to achieve their ambitions and sustainably integrate into society by instilling an ambulance awareness culture amongst them and the communities that surround them, as well as providing internationally accredited first aid, AED and CPR training for their coaches and support staff from Special Olympics UAE to ensure their safety in times of emergencies.
The Golisano Award for Local Health Leadership is the UAE’s highest honorary award, presented to individuals, leaders, or organisations who champion efforts to support healthy communities within the Special Olympics UAE Health programme, and play an influential and effective role to ensure quality healthcare, wellbeing, and safety for People of Determination.
