National Ambulance Confirms Readiness for Eid and Calls on the Public to Adhere to Safety Guidelines and Precautions

Abu Dhabi, May 11, 2021: National Ambulance has raised emergency preparedness and taken the required proactive measures in readiness for Eid Al Fitr holiday in the Northern Emirates. On the occasion, the emergency medical care provider is also calling on the public to celebrate safely and responsibly and stressed the importance of continuing to adhere to the safety instructions and preventive measures issued by the concerned authorities to protect the health and safety of the community and support the country’s efforts in further recovering from the pandemic.

As part of the emergency preparations, National Ambulance will increase its around the clock readiness to ensure efficient response to potential emergency incidents during this period. This includes the strategic distribution and dynamic deployment of resources on vital roads and areas based on historical data and call and location pattern analysis. National Ambulance will also coordinate closely with strategic partners across the emergency sector to provide an efficient joint response and ensure public safety.

Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, CEO of National Ambulance, confirmed that the emergency medical teams, including those working at the Ambulance Communications Centre, have taken all the necessary precautions to be at full readiness to deliver emergency service requirements and efficiently respond to potential incidents on the frontline.

Al Hajeri also urged the public to celebrate Eid responsibly and not undermine all the success achieved in containing the pandemic and limiting its spread. He reminded people to continue adhering to preventive measures and safety instructions, including Eid Prayers protocols issued by the concerned authorities.

Current advice to maintain healthy and safety during Eid Al Fitr holiday includes:

• Adhere to safety guidelines and precautions and follow Eid prayers protocol
• Seniors above the age 60 and children under the age 12 should perform Eid prayers at home. People with chronic diseases, or those living with or have been in contact with Covid-19 patients are prohibited from praying in mosques
• Exchange Eid greetings via modern technology
• Replace Eidiya (handing out money or gifts) with online alternatives
• Avoid visits and family gatherings, especially for people who are at higher risk of serious illness
• Refrain from shaking hands, nose greeting, kissing or hugging others
• Do not exchange food or gifts
• Avoid crowded places and gatherings at public or private places
• Keep children under close supervision during celebrations to minimize the risk of accidents
• Drive safely, comply with traffic laws and road safety rules and give right of way to emergency vehicles
